  1. Review by A Closet Full of Books

Stephanie has always been intuitive and with the help of her best friend Karen and her husband Victor she has always felt at peace with her gift as well as nurtured it. When Karen and Victor introduce Stephanie to Chaz she is immediately overwhelmed with a sense of rightness. Chaz has never met anyone like Stephanie before and that scares him a little. At a time in his life when he cannot afford a distraction that is what Stephanie turns out to be. In the coming months this budding romance will be tested beyond measure. Can Stephanie deal with the truths about Chaz that are revealed to her in dreams? Can Chaz keep Stephanie safe from everything that threatens them? Will Stephanie be able to trust Chaz as much as she trusts her gifts? Great story filled with action, suspense love and a touch of the spiritual that will leave you captivated.

This was a great read!! I really enjoyed the relationship between Chaz and Stephanie. My grandmother called it "having a sixth sense". My mother called it "women's intuition". This book has you consider what you may believe.

I received an ARC in exchanged for my honest review. Honestly I was hesitant when I read the synopsis and the first few pages, because this is not my usual genre. However, I am not a quitter when it comes to books and I am sooooo glad that I kept going. There is nothing better than a romance book with a little bit of intrigue thrown in. The twist was very unpredictable. The attraction between Stephanie and Chaz was hot from the very beginning. I loved witnessing the journey they traveled to find true happiness and love.

  4. Review by Marcia Walkerdine

This is my second book by this author. I was given an ARC of this book for my honest review.

I thought the title of the book was very unusual and I was interested to find out what this story could be about. The word premonition means intuition, sign, foreboding, indication, forewarning and that is exactly what this book is about.

This is Chaz and Stephanie’s story. They meet on a blind date arranged by mutual friends. From the first meeting Stephanie and Chaz feel a strong connection between them. They are comfortable and at ease with each other.
Stephanie starts having dreams about Chaz that he is in danger and this makes her very anxious that Chaz life is in danger. What she does not know is that Chaz has a dangerous job and all is not as it seems. Stephanie relies on her gift to give him important information which helps him stay ahead of the game.

Once Chaz is out of danger and they try to purse a relationship together. Stephanie (in my opinion) relies too heavily on her premonitions/gift to give her guidance in whether she should go all out in pursuing her relation with Chaz, which I was disappointed by. It appeared in the story that her gift was the strongest when Chaz was in danger but when it was just every day relationship issues, it felt as if Stephanie did not trust or have enough confidence in what the couple felt for each other to trust that alone. If felt like she need to have a dream to confirm that the couple did in fact have a future together. Chaz wanted Stephanie to trust and rely more in him too.

Stephanie: “I was going to ask you whether you believe in fate, destiny, and serendipity – whatever you want to call it”.

    Chaz: “Definitely”.

The author does not share the ethnicity of the couple and as you read the story this is not an issue because this is a story about a couple finding love in unusual circumstances!

This was an enjoyable, engrossing story, with lots of mystery involved. Definitely worth the read.

  5. Review by Tumika Patrice Cain of Say What?? Book Club (4 Stars)

Stephanie is a good woman born with spiritual gifts who has come to a place of being bored in her life. She has good friends who she loves, a good paying job that she hates, and lives in a place that fails to feed her soul. Then she meets Chaz. The connection between them is instant.

Chaz is in a transitional place in his life. Up until recently he’d been perfectly content to continue on life status quo. However, new developments have him reevaluating everything. Now if he can only make the right decisions. Meeting Stephanie is one more thing to consider.

Content to just let the flow of life lead them, Stephanie and Chaz develop a beautiful connection based on mutual respect, admiration, and dare I say, love. The transition into each other’s worlds is anything but easy. At times there are huge monkey wrenches thrown right in to make what they are building seem impossible. But isn’t love worth fighting for?

This story chronicles their relationship through odd, and sometimes, extenuating circumstances. Her spiritual gifts play a huge part in their relationship, as well as in the basis for the storyline. The story moved along at a moderate pace with interesting characters. Chaz and Stephanie have great book chemistry. The story is well-written, but missing some elements. I would have liked more of the back story of what was going on in their lives before meeting, especially in the area of what prompted Chaz’s career choice and how Stephanie has gotten along with her ‘gift.’ Although it was apparent the story was thought out, planned well and read well, it lacked feeling. I could not FEEL the characters or their emotions. A key component in writing romance is the emotional connection readers feel with the characters, the nuances, the romantic build up. To me those things were missing. It is an interesting story and I do look forward to seeing how things play out in the next installment. To the author’s credit, the book was not left with a cliffhanger. Side note: the cover and the title did not make me think it was going to be a romance novel. They seemed geared more towards sci-fi or something of a paranormal nature. I loved the inclusion of other cultures and elements of spirituality that was present in the story.
