Thinking she was ‘safe’ from unwanted advances and that her list would scare off any potential admirers, Amina went on about her way as a busy, successful project manager, oblivious to what was brewing around her. Instead, she found herself pursued by two men who were the opposite of each other in every way, but still everything she was missing, and longing for, in her life.
An invitation to a wedding landed Amina right in the path of Jason, the sexy, 30-something, chocolate confection who put the F in the word FINE! He was successful, open, and totally sure of himself and his desire for the beautiful, sexy, older Amina. Once he set his sights on her nothing would change his mind, and once he had her in his life, nothing would get in the way of her staying!
Wesley has been a not so silent admirer for quite some time. Choosing to let her come to her own conclusions about the possibility of them, he gave her love, protection, tenderness, and space with no expectation of it being returned. He is cultured, distinguished, successful and fine! He’s also a great deal older than Amina. All is well with his plan until another man embarks upon his territory.
Amina finds herself in a quandary, as she must decide if she will go left, go right, or stay on the path leading to her self-imposed exile from relationships.
I will start off by saying I absolutely LOVED this story. This is one of the best contemporary romance stories I’ve read in quite some time. The characters were believable, relatable, and likable. I completely understood Amina’s plight. Not having a man is one thing, but have to decide between two such willing and worthy suitors is a completely different matter! I had a hard time deciding which road I wanted her to go down. This book was beautifully written with just the right amount of love, spice, and tenderness. The chemistry between the characters jumped off the pages. I could feel every nuance and gesture, and hear every word – spoken and unspoken. The secondary characters added just enough to this story to keep things interesting. The story was well developed and wonderfully written. Excellent read.
